ISTQB® (the International Software Testing Qualifications Board) heeft 's werelds meest succesvolle standaard gecreëerd voor de kennis en vaardigheden van software testers. Het groeiende ISTQB® portfolio is verdeeld in 3 tracks: Core (de standaardvaardigheden die in elke werkomgeving relevant blijven), Agile (voor testers die hun bestaande kennis van best practices in Agile-omgevingen willen uitbreiden of bewijzen) en Specialist (voor degenen die voor hun werk een diepgaand begrip van bepaalde onderwerpen nodig hebben).

The International Function Point Users Group (IFPUG) serves to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and ideas for improved software measurement techniques and seeks to provide a composite environment that stimulates the personal and professional development of its members. IFPUG also hosts the International Software Measurement and Analysis (ISMA) Conferences as well as periodic educational workshops and seminars.

IFPUG is a non-profit user-supported group that has gained worldwide recognition as a top-class organization providing very valuable service to the software industry that endorses two types of standard methodology for software sizing. Its members are committed to developing and implementing a highly professional and sound certification program.

The mission of the International Function Point Users Group is to be a recognized leader in promoting and encouraging the effective management of application software development and maintenance activities by providing software sizing standards and other software measurement techniques.

One of the standards is defined in the Function Point Counting Practices Manual (CPM), the recognized industry standard for Function Point Analysis (FPA). It provides a forum for networking and information exchange that promotes and encourages the use of software product and process metrics This standard is ISO Certified.

As companies use Function Point Analysis (FPA) more and more in their contracts, IFPUG, as the body who certifies an individual’s capability, must ensure that the certified individual does indeed have the required expertise. Therefore, ongoing renewal that includes active testing is required to maintain the current high status of the CFPS/CFPP designation and to maintain IFPUG’s reputation as the certifying body. There is great demand in the industry for qualified function point counters. As such, it will be of great benefit to you to be recognized as an IFPUG Certified Function Point Specialist (CFPS) or IFPUG Certified Function Point Practitioner (CFPP).

The other standard are an evolving industry standard defined in the Software Non-functional Assessment Process (SNAP Assessment Practices Manual (APM). IFPUG also has certification related to SNAP – Certified SNAP Practitioner (CSP). The Certified SNAP Practitioner (CSP) designations recognize the initial level of knowledge and skills in the Software Non-functional Assessment Process (SNAP).

De iSAQB (International Software Architecture Qualification Board) zet zich in voor de bevordering van beroepsonderwijs en -opleiding. In het bijzonder stelt zij zich ten doel de opleiding tot Certified Professional for Software Architecture (hierna "CPSA" genoemd) te standaardiseren. De basis is het door de iSAQB ontwikkelde CPSA-model, dat een internationale norm vormt voor de opleiding en training van softwarearchitecten. Het model definieert opeenvolgende opleidingsstadia, ook wel niveaus genoemd (CPSA-F - Foundation Level; CPSA-A - Advanced Level; CPSA-E - Expert Level), waarbij elk niveau kan worden gekenmerkt en onderverdeeld door curricula. Aan het eind van elk afzonderlijk niveau kan een examen worden afgelegd, waarin de inhoud van het afzonderlijke curriculum en de dienovereenkomstig toegewezen leerdoelen worden onderzocht.

De nadruk ligt op onderwijs en training van de volgende vaardigheden:

• fundamentele architectuurbeslissingen bespreken en afstemmen met belanghebbenden uit eisen, management, ontwikkeling, operaties en testen
• de essentiële activiteiten van softwarearchitectuur begrijpen en uitvoeren voor kleine tot middelgrote systemen
• softwarearchitecturen documenteren en communiceren op basis van architectuurvisies, architectuurpatronen en technische concepten.

Bovendien behandelen deze opleidingen

• de term software architectuur en de betekenis ervan
• de taken en verantwoordelijkheden van software architecten
• de rol van software architecten binnen ontwikkelingsprojecten

Performance testing is a type of testing intended to determine the responsiveness, throughput, reliability, and/or scalability of a system under a given workload.  It is a generic term that can refer to many different types of performance-related testing (load, stress, endurance, etc.), each of which addresses a specific problem area and provides opportunities for improvement and to find out bottlenecks. There are several automated tools available to execute performance testing – JMeter is one of the most widely used tools to simulate the load generation.
