ISTQB® (the International Software Testing Qualifications Board) has created the world’s most widely used standard for software testers’ knowledge and skills. The growing ISTQB portfolio is divided into 2 tracks:

• Core, including foundation level and advanced: the standard skills that remain relevant across all work environments: Management, Analysis and Automation

• Specialist, for those whose roles require an in-depth understanding of specific topics, organized into 3 subcategories:
  • Technologies and Approaches (Agile, DevOps, Mobile App, Artificial Intelligence, Model-based, and Automation Strategy)
  • Quality Characteristics and Test Levels (Usability, Security, Performance, and Acceptance)
  • Testing in Particular Domains (Game, Gambling, Automotive, and Finance)

The International Function Point Users Group (IFPUG) facilitates the exchange of knowledge and ideas to improve software measurement techniques and seeks to provide a supportive environment that stimulates its members' personal and professional development. IFPUG also hosts the International Software Measurement and Analysis (ISMA) Conferences and periodic educational workshops and seminars.

IFPUG is a non-profit, user-supported group that has gained worldwide recognition as a top-class organization providing valuable service to the software industry that endorses two types of standard methodologies for software sizing. Its members are committed to developing and implementing a highly professional and sound certification program.

The mission of the International Function Point Users Group is to be a recognized leader in promoting and encouraging the effective management of application software development and maintenance activities by providing software sizing standards and other software measurement techniques.

One of the standards is defined in the Function Point Counting Practices Manual (CPM), the recognized industry standard for Function Point Analysis (FPA). This standard is ISO certified and provides a networking and information exchange forum that promotes and encourages the use of software products and process metrics.

As companies increasingly use Function Point Analysis (FPA) more and more in their contracts, IFPUG, as the body that certifies an individual’s capability, must ensure that the certified individual has the required expertise. Therefore, ongoing renewal that includes active testing is necessary to maintain the CFPS/CFPP designation's current high status and IFPUG’s reputation as the certifying body. There is great demand in the industry for qualified function point counters. As such, being recognized as an IFPUG Certified Function Point Specialist (CFPS) or IFPUG Certified Function Point Practitioner (CFPP) will significantly benefit you.

The other standard is an evolving industry standard defined in the Software Non-functional Assessment Process (SNAP Assessment Practices Manual (APM). IFPUG also has SNAP – Certified SNAP Specialist/Practitioner (CSS/CSP) certification. The Certified SNAP Specialist/Practitioner designations recognize the initial level of knowledge and skills in the Software Non-functional Assessment Process (SNAP).

The iSAQB (International Software Architecture Qualification Board) is committed to promoting vocational education and training. In particular, its goal is to standardize training to become a Certified Professional for Software Architecture (hereinafter referred to as "CPSA"). The basis is the CPSA model developed by the iSAQB, which represents an international standard for the education and training of software architects. The model defines successive training stages, also called levels (CPSA-F – Foundation Level; CPSA-A – Advanced Level; CPSA-E – Expert Level), whereby each level can be characterized and subdivided by curricula. At the end of each individual level, an examination can be taken that enquires about the content of the individual curriculum and the corresponding learning objectives.

The focus is on education and training in the following skills:

• Discuss and reconcile fundamental architectural decisions with stakeholders from requirements, management, development, operations and testing.
• Understand the essential activities of software architecture, and carry out those for small- to medium-sized systems.
• Document and communicate software architecture based on architectural views, architectural patterns, and technical concepts.

In addition, such trainings cover:

• The term software architecture and its meaning.
• The tasks and responsibilities of software architects.
• The roles of software architects within development projects.
• State-of-the-art methods and techniques for developing software architectures.

The TMMi Foundation is a non-profit organization that supports organizations worldwide in enhancing their software and system testing, ultimately achieving higher and sustainable levels of product quality for the systems they develop and maintain. With TMMi, these organizations can assess and improve their test processes cost-effectively and, if required, become formally certified. Where the ISTQB® supports the global knowledge of software testing, TMMi focuses on implementing this knowledge and assessing test processes against the global leading model for test process improvement, the TMMi Model.

Performance testing is a type of testing intended to determine a system's responsiveness, throughput, reliability, and scalability under a given workload.

It is a generic term that can refer to many types of performance-related testing (load, stress, endurance, etc.), each of which addresses a specific problem area and provides opportunities to improve and identify bottlenecks.
