TMMi® Assessor training is slightly different from most of the descriptions on the Brightest website in that there is no certification exam at the end of the training at this time, unless organized for training purposes by the training provider.
Those who have attended the TMMi® Assessor training will have a strong understanding of the following concepts:
Topic 1: The TMMi Model
1.1. Understand the TMMi maturity levels, process areas, and key concepts
1.2. Understand the specific and generic goals of the TMMi model
1.3. Understand the structure of the TMMi model
1.4. Be able to differentiate between the required, expected, and other TMMi components
1.5. Summarize and categorize the different TMMi components
1.6. Interpret the TMMi model, its process areas, and practices in different contexts, e.g., in an Agile context
Topic 2: TMMi Documents and Processes
2.1. Summarize the published TMMi assessment-related documents and how they are used and processed
2.2. Know the difference between TAMAR and an accredited TMMi assessment method, e.g., TMMi Assessment Method (TAM)
2.3. Describe the process for the accreditation of a TMMi assessment method
2.4. Recall that TAMAR complies with the requirements for assessment detailed in ISO 15504 part 2 [9]
2.5. Know the process for how an organization becomes formally certified with TMMi
2.6. Summarize the criteria to become an accredited TMMi (lead) assessor
2.7. Understand the procedure to apply for TMMi assessor accreditation

Topic 3: Introduction to TMMi Assessments

Topic 6: Process Component Rating
6.1. Summarize the activities of the process component rating and assessment analysis phase
6.2. Understand the measurement scale, including their rating, to which an organization achieves a particular practice (specific and generic): N (Not Achieved), P (Partially Achieved), L (Largely Achieved), and F (Fully Achieved)
6.3. Contrast between the various points on the measurement scale
6.4. Understand the rules regarding the applicability of the nominal rating NR (Not Rated) for practices
6.5. Follow a procedure to score the practices (specific and generic) based on the evidence gathered according to the TMMi guidelines
6.6. Understand the measurement scale to which an organization achieves a particular goal, process area, and maturity level: N (Not Achieved), P (Partially Achieved), L (Largely Achieved), and F (Fully Achieved)

Those who have actively participated in the TMMi Assessor training course will be able to demonstrate a level of assessment knowledge required as a prerequisite to becoming an accredited TMMi (Lead)Assessor or TMMi Test Process Improver.
The entry criterion for joining a TMMi Assessor training course is that the candidate holds the TMMi Professional certificate and is genuinely interested in software testing and, better yet, the continuous improvements of software testing processes. However, candidates are strongly recommended to have a background in either software development or software testing, such as six months of experience as a system or user acceptance tester or as a software developer.
